For the very first time in the specialized literature, this book provides to those interested in studying argumentation theory an approach to this theory from a specifically philosophical perspective, that is, based on the assumption that the problems it deals with are primarily, and before becoming multi- or interdisciplinary, genuine philosophical problems, even if the authors in question did not necessarily intend to contribute to that particular theory.

The essays collected in this book have a specific focus: while certainly aimed at all those interested in the study of argumentation theory regardless of their original training background, they are specially intended for those without formal philosophical training. 

The author’s aim is to invite them to revisit the more or less complex―and, so far, seemingly unsolvable―problematics of this theory in the light of the illuminating and comforting perspective of philosophy.
